Meet 2015 KC Magazine Most Wanted Auction’s Christina Komonce

Christina Komonce

Events and Programming Manager at Google Fiber

Living in Kansas City, Christina Komonce never thought she would have the opportunity to work for Google, the company she’d been dreaming of calling her employer for years. Hard work (and Google Fiber’s move into the metro) gave her the job she’d been dreaming of.

“I remember in high school we had to fill a questionnaire and one of the questions was ‘Where do you want to work when you grow up?’ I put Google but never thought I’d actually have this opportunity,” Komonce says. “It took awhile to get where I am today, but I think that with hard work and determination, you can get places you want to be.”

We’re sure the degree in marketing and psychology and MBA in management, all earned in four years while Komonce played basketball at Rockhurst University, didn’t hurt either.

Komonce also plays an active role in the KC community. During her second year as the marketing coordinator for the Bacchus Foundation, she helped the organization raise $90,000 for Love Fund for Children and Phoenix Family, and she personally raised more than $4,000 as a participant in the Blondes vs. Brunettes Flag Football Fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. (Komonce won the awards for Top Fundraiser and Rookie of the Year).
