Prairiefire is located in Overland Park, Kansas on the beauitufl Nicklaus Golf Course. Overland Park, a nationally ranked award-winning city and dynamic suburb, is both the second largest city in Kansas, and within the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Prairiefire is designated by the State of Kansas and the City of Overland Park as a major tourism destination due to its anchor attraction--the American Museum of Natural History Exhibitions. The Museum at PrairieFire officially opens May 12, but dignitaries were on hand today for a ribbon cutting, immediately after celebrating the opening of the surrounding PrairieFire entertainment district in Overland Park, which includes the area's first Cinetopia, Newport Grill, Threshing Bee and more. During the opening gala, Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach noted that 2.4 million people are expected to visit PrairieFire each year, making it a "fantastic game changer for Overland Park."
