CorePower Yoga’s new Hawthorne Plaza location offers a mindful way to break a sweat.
Anyone who says yoga isn’t a workout hasn’t been to CorePower Yoga. At its locations throughout the country, the Denver-based company offers classes that balance the mindfulness of yoga with intense fitness.
After opening its first studio in KC last fall at the Country Club Plaza, CorePower has jumped across the state line with its first Kansas location at Overland Park’s Hawthorne Plaza, now open.
The studio currently offers four classes: C1, a beginner-friendly, foundation-building class exploring the postures and fundamental principles of vinyasa yoga; C2, CorePower’s signature class that tests strength and balance in a 95-98-degree room; Yoga Sculpt, which introduces free weights and cardio to C2 sequences in a heated room; and Hot Power Fusion, a combination of hot yoga and power yoga in a 100-103-degree room. Classes are open to all levels, but yoga experience is recommended for C2 and Yoga Sculpt.
Packages can be purchased in quantities of 5, 10 or 20 classes. They do not expire and can be used at any of the studio’s locations. Dropping into a class is $20. (Student, senior, teacher and military pricing is also offered.) One- and three-month unlimited memberships are available, along with Black Tag membership, which includes perks like unlimited yoga access, retail discounts and invites to special events.
New to CorePower? First-time visitors can sign up for a free one-week pass to test the studio out.
