Holiday season have you feeling a little more stressed than holly jolly? A relaxing staycation can work wonders. Like Hotel Sorella, these sophisticated hotels are offering specials guaranteed to recharge your battery and get you back to decking the halls in no time.

AC Hotels Kansas City Westport

European-inspired and rooted in KC urbanism, the AC Hotel by Marriott Kansas City Westport is an ideal choice for a weekend of relaxation and restoration. And to make your stay extra special, the hotel offers two packages to help you enjoy the Country Club Plaza decorated in thousands of twinkling lights.

The low-key Plaza Lights Package ($189-$249 per night plus taxes for double occupancy) lets you plan your own weekend itinerary, but with a little help, including breakfast for two at the AC’s sumptuous buffet. There’s also complimentary transportation to the Plaza and a $50 Plaza gift card to help you jumpstart your shopping expedition.

If you want to go full-tilt for the ultimate Kansas City holiday experience, choose the AC Hotel’s Country Club Plaza Luminary VIP Package ($2,500 per night plus taxes for double occupancy). You and your main squeeze or BFF will be pampered in deluxe accommodations, starting with a 21-piece signature selection of Christopher Elbow chocolates and a bottle of Dom Perignon P2 1998 on arrival. Then embark on an unforgettable night on the town with a 10-course meal including wine pairings at the James Beard Award-nominated Bluestem owned by James Beard Award-winning chef Colby Garrelts and his wife, pastry chef Megan Garrelts. After dinner take a helicopter tour for two above the glittering postcard-perfect Plaza, a romantic 30-minute carriage ride for two through the Plaza and later, a leisurely tour of Ward Parkway and Mission Hills’ holiday finery in a private limousine that’s all yours for two hours. The next morning, after breakfast for two at the AC’s buffet, use a $500 Plaza gift card to find some baubles for yourself (after all, you’ve been very good this year!).

And if there’s extra time, check out the American Epics: Thomas Hart Benton and Hollywood exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (through Jan. 3, 2016) or the Messengers of Goodwill doll exhibit at The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures (through Jan 3, 2016).

Hotel Phillips

This historic property, meticulously restored to its Art Deco splendor, is conveniently located in the vibrant heart of downtown Kansas City, steps away from the Power and Light District and other popular attractions. Check in for a long weekend during December and choose from one of two packages designed to spoil and invigorate.

The Nutcracker (starting at $229 per night plus taxes for double occupancy) includes well-appointed accommodations at Hotel Phillips and two tickets to a performance of the Kansas City Ballet’s all-new production of the timeless holiday classic, which unfolds on the stage of the Muriel Kauffman Theatre at the stunning Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The package includes complimentary valet parking, a 10 percent discount at Hotel Phillips’ restaurant, 12 Baltimore, and two orchestra section tickets to the “The Nutcracker” (through Dec. 24).

Or opt for the Kansas City Broadway package (starting at $279 plus taxes for double occupancy) that will treat you like a star. Receive two center orchestra section tickets to a Broadway Across America production at Kauffman Center (“Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” Dec. 29-30), complimentary valet parking and a 10 percent discount at 12 Baltimore.

Westin Kansas City and Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center

You can’t get closer to holiday cheer in KC than staying at one of Crown Center’s hotels. Both the Westin and Sheraton are offering guests extra incentive to book a stay with the “Shop and See the Lights” package now through Dec. 30 (rates vary by property and date), which includes complimentary self-parking and guest room internet as well as a $50 gift card to Halls, ideal for doing some last-minute Christmas shopping or simply updating your winter wardrobe. You’ll want to slip on something cozy for when you lace up your skates at the Crown Center Ice Terrace or sip a steaming mug of hot chocolate and watch others take a spin around the rink.

If you’re making it a family getaway, kids can visit LEGOLAND Discover Center, the Sea Life Aquarium, and clock quality time with Santa. Or opt for an adults-only stay and enjoy a romantic meal in The American, one of the city’s most iconic restaurants.
