Furry Fridays: Mocha at Great Plains SPCA

One look into Mocha’s mesmerizing eyes and you’ll be hooked.

Meet Mocha, a two-year-old Siberian Husky/Greyhound mix at Great Plains SPCA’s Independence Campus. Besides being easy on the eyes, Mocha is extremely smart, playful, curious and independent. She loves to play fetch and will let you know how happy she is with the most adorable play bows. Mocha is looking for a home where she will receive a lot of mental stimulation and exercise—preferably an active family that wants a sidekick for their adventures. Mocha can be shy at first, but she warms up quickly and will dare you not to fall in love.

Visit to see all of the shelter’s adorable adoptables, or stop by this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Great Plains SPCA is partnering with KC Pet Project and Wayside for the ASPCA Mega-Match-a-Thon Adoption Event. Each participating shelter will have $25 adoptions all weekend, and each pet will receive spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip. –Emily Hawkins
