Bread & Butter Concepts Restaurants Get Fresh

Eating farm fresh has never been easier—at least for the next week.

During the second annual Farm Fresh Week September 8-13, all Bread & Butter Concepts restaurants are offering two or three farm-to-table dishes and drinks that highlight the products of local farms and purveyors.

Wondering what your options are? We’re breaking down a few highlights, available for lunch and dinner:

BRGR Kitchen + Bar is serving up a Windhaven Farms lamb burger with Green Dirt Farm goat cheese, Kurlbaum heirloom tomato and apricot chutney on a Farm To Market salt and pepper bun and a J. Rieger Whiskey Horsefeather with No. 22 apricot bitters.

Windhaven Farms’ sweet tea pork takes center stage at Taco Republic, complemented by Burger’s Smokehouse ham and peppered bacon, gruyere, pickle, City Market jalapeno mustard and Art’s Mexican Foods crispy flour tortillas in the Cubano Taco.

At Urban Table, sink your teeth into the Norton Farm grilled pork chop with a fig balsamic gastrique, Providence Farm potato and parsnip puree and Missing Ingredient mirco beet salad.

For veggie lovers, Ingredient True Eatery has a Kurlbaum beefsteak tomato tenderloin steak with Overland Park Farmer’s Market red onion and Providence Farm Roasted Yukon potato.

Gram & Dun’s Missing Ingredient All-Star Salad Blend looks to pack a flavorful punch with Overland Park Farmer’s Market spiced pecans and pickled leeks, Green Dirt Farm goat cheese and a shiso vinaigrette. And don’t forget to enjoy a Wet Hot Kansas City Summer on the restaurant’s patio; the cocktail features J. Rieger Whiskey, Giffard Menthe Pastille, Dolin Genepy de Alpes and lime.

If you haven’t tried Bread & Butter’s latest addition, República, Farm Fresh Week is the perfect opportunity. The Plaza eatery’s special dishes include a Shannon Creel lamb and Fahrmeier Farms kale fritter with Missing Ingredient herb aioli, featuring La Ferme du Bonheur eggs, and Windhaven Farms R&J Rabbitry rabbit paella with Broadmoor Urban Farm carrots, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and squash. Liquid local offerings include Amigoni’s Urban Vaquero and a J. Rieger cocktail.
