Baldwin Named a Finalist for CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Competition

Hometown label Baldwin joins the ranks of Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler with a spot in one of fashion’s most prestigious competitions.

Congratulations are in order for Matt Baldwin and company: Baldwin is one of 10 finalists vying for a big prize from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

The fund is an initiative from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue to support emerging American fashion talent. The 10 finalists were whittled down from a list of hundreds of applicants and will spend the next few months participating in special design and advertising challenges, staging a runway show at West Hollywood’s famed Chateau Marmont and sharing their stories with Vogue before the winners are announced on November 2.

Each year, the fund awards three designers—one winner who receives $300,000 and two runner-ups who receive $100,000 as well as mentorships by established designers and industry executives. Past winners include now familiar names such as Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler.
