Happy Hour of the Week: Gram & Dun

If it’s good enough for Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis, it’s good enough for us.

Consider that your new motto and head to Gram & Dun, where the local guys turned comedy starts stopped in when they were in town last weekend for Big Slick, their annual fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Of course the Country Club Plaza restaurant doesn’t need celebrity clientele to put it on our happy hour radar. Monday through Friday 3 – 6 p.m. enjoy $3 Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat, Summit Pilsener and New Belgium Fat Tire drafts for $3 as well as red and white wine, bubbly and well drinks for just $5. A Lincoln will also get you a cocktail, such as a dark & stormy or a Ginger Rogers, made with Tanqueray gin, mint, ginger syrup, lime juice and ginger beer.

No skimpy bites on the food side of happy hour here, just hearty portions of flavorful creations such as beef fat fries, not-so-standard-potato chips served with vanilla bean, guacamole and blood orange-habanero ketchups, French onion dumplings, mac and cheese and P.E.I. mussels with a twist courtesy of bacon dashi, mirin and miso butter.

Even better than these offerings? Snagging a spot at the outside bar area on one of the city’s best patios.
