Enjoying food from favorites such as Jack Stack and Stroud’s just got a little easier.
Jack Stack opened the doors to its fifth KC restaurant this week. The new Lee’s Summit location (in the Summit Woods Crossing Shopping Center at 1840 N.W. Chipman Road) is the first to be built from the ground up and features an exhibition kitchen that lets diners see food prep as well as a full-service bar connected to a large patio. You already know (and probably love) what’s on the menu—the same delectable smoked-to-perfection ribs, burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork, Hickory Pit Beans and famous Cheesy Corn Bake that you’ll find at Jack Stack locations around the metro.
Kansas City’s Power & Light District just added a new restaurant to its roster: Yard House. It’s likely to win over beer lovers with 130 draft beer selections, including 32 regional drafts representing Missouri and Kansas, such as Boulevard, Cinder Block and KC Bier, but Yard House also offers an impressively diverse menu. In addition to American favorites, guests can choose from an array of gluten-sensitive and vegetarian options as well as low-calorie cocktails.
Independence fans of Stroud’s, it’s your lucky day. The home of pan-fried chicken recently opened a new location near the Independence Events Center where you’ll find all your favorites as well as daily lunch specials including the pork tenderloin sandwich (Tuesday), chicken pot pie (Wednesday) and grandma’s meatloaf (Thursday). The space also features special dining rooms for parties and special events.
