Art Bra KC Celebrates Survival

Locally designed, one-of-a-kind bras help raise breast cancer awareness.

The models at Art Bra KC are captivating, and not just because they’re strutting down the catwalk in wild, eye-catching bras. All the women in the show are breast cancer survivors and patients.

At the unique Art Bra event being held May 1 at Signature Flight Support in the TWA Signature Hangar at the Downtown Airport, attendees can bid on nearly 70 pieces of art and work-of-art bras designed by local Kansas City artists in addition to seeing the top 25 bras modeled on the runway. They’ll also have the chance to meet Sporting KC and Kansas City Chiefs players on hand to help auction off special sports packages.

Money raised benefits Missys’ Boutique Patient In Need Fund at the University of Kansas Hospital and the new cancer appearance center at the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Center at Truman Medical Center, facilities for eligible uninsured and underinsured cancer patients that offer services and products designed to help patients and survivors overcome obstacles with dignity and style.
