Kansas City is the place to be, according to Travel + Leisure, BuzzFeed and high50.
Lifestyle website high50 shared its top tips for Missouri travel, and naturally KC was at the top of the list, which suggests visitors book a room at the luxe Hotel Sorella and notes the city’s cultural highlights, including The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. The Chiefs, Royals and Sporting KC all scored mentions (“Not surprisingly, KC is terrific for the sports aficionado,” according to the article) as do local favorites Arthur Bryant’s, LC’s Bar-B-Q, Bluestem and Novel.
For thirsty visitors, a tour of Boulevard Brewing Company and a taste of its generous samples are recommended along with a trip to West Bottoms gem Amigoni Urban Winery.
Kansas City also came in at No. 3 on Travel + Leisure’s list of America’s best cities for food snobs. Although we’re known for barbecue, “the city is more than just burnt ends,” Travel + Leisure writes, pointing out fine dining options Bluestem and The American as well as newcomer Cleaver & Cork.
Never to be outdone in the list department, BuzzFeed recently included Manifesto on its list, “19 Bars In America You Should Drink At Before You Die,” and KC appeared on the “29 Places All Twentysomethings Should Pick Up And Move To” list.
