What to Wear This Football Season

It’s time to trade out your baseball caps for football jerseys (or something a little more stylish).

Tis the season where Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays (and the occasional Thursdays) are spent on the couch cheering each quarter.

Even if you’re only in it for the half-time gigs, it’s fun to show your spirit in your team’s colors. Forget your basic T-shirt or jersey and opt for these more fashionable looks.

Kansas City Chiefs: A cool, locally made tee from Freelance Brand Clothing ($28, from KC Garment Collective) goes girly with the help of these Kendra Scott “Skylar” earrings in bright red ($65, from kendrascott.com). Guys can show their pride with Sock 101’s “The Lamar,” $7.

Stay chic during brisk weather with this BB Dakota “Alma” vegan leather jacket ($108) and long-sleeve red tee ($54) from Frankly Basic. Add a yellow scarf for extra coziness.

University of Missouri Tigers: Naturally tiger print is perfect for a Mizzou game, but we’re also partial to these leopard print leggings ($98, from Alysa Rene), paired with a black blouse ($74, from EJ’s Boutique). Equally edgy? This metallic sweater ($235, EJ’s Boutique) with black skinny jeans ($108, Alysa Rene). Ditch the heels in favor of boots or cute canvas sneakers to make sure the look is stadium-friendly.

University of Kansas Jayhawks: Play it pretty with a simple tee ($30) and bold blue skirt ($34) from Fortuity or opt for an easy to wear plaid in crimson and blue, like this Rails LA design ($128, from Standard Style) with wayfarers.

Kansas State University Wildcats: Pair a cute purple tank ($28) with a white shawl ($23) for breezy evening games at the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium.
