Paint the Town Red for the Kansas City Chiefs

September 5 at 5 p.m., Union Station

There’s a lot to love about fall—cooler temperatures, colorful foliage, and of course, the return of football.

Relegate summer clothes to the back of your closet and break out your best red and gold for “KC Celebrates at the Station,” a joint fête between the Chiefs and Union Station. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Union Station, the Chiefs will host their annual Red Friday Pep Rally downtown outside of the landmark.

The free festivities start at 5 p.m. with food and beverages available for purchase. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a concert, followed by the yearly tradition of the Chiefs taking the stage for the Pep Rally, along with the team’s coaches and cheerleaders and KC Wolf. After the rally, Quixotic will present Union Station Revealed: The Monument Comes Alive Outdoor Digital Show, a 3D laser show that will be displayed on the façade of Union Station at 8:45 p.m., concluding with a fireworks extravaganza. So go ahead—bring your friends and family and paint the town red on September 5. For more details, visit www.unionstation.org/calendar and www.kcchiefs.com/news.—Kathryn Greene
