Two local chefs are making the leap from the kitchen to the small screen.
Kyle Williams, the executive chef for Good Food Good Futures, which currently operates as the corporate kitchen for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, is challenging Food Network favorite Bobby Flay on Thursday’s episode of “Beat Bobby Flay.” The show pits two chefs against each other, with the winner getting the chance to try and out-cook Flay.

Then on Sunday, you can catch Magnolia’s Contemporary Southern Bistro and Catering owner and executive chef Shanita McAfee on the network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen.” Cooking skills are only part of the challenge she’ll face on the show, which features four chefs competing for victory. Each chef is given $25,000 that can be used to help themselves or sabotage competitors with a bevy of bizarre challenges. Catch “Cutthroat Kitchen” at 9 p.m.
