A downtown rooftop isn’t the typical place for a surf and turf dinner.
But then Give Hope Back’s Lobsterfest isn’t exactly the typical fundraiser. Launched by local Chris Jackman as a way to encourage his thirty-something peers to keep up the philanthropic work they participated in during college, Give Hope Back is hosting its fifth annual signature event on August 23 to raise money for the Children’s Mercy Cancer Center Auxiliary.
During the anti-black tie benefit, which will take place on the rooftop park at 13th and Main Street (above Cosentino’s), guests will enjoy fresh lobsters and prime rib-eye steaks, unlimited sides and cheddar biscuits, plus live and silent auctions and entertainment from cover band The Shanks—not to mention stunning views of the Kansas City skyline. Tickets ($110-$175) are available at givehopeback.org.
