World Cup Watch Parties

Don’t miss out on a minute of World Cup action.

Show your soccer spirit at one of these wonderful destinations around town.

Power & Light wants to be your World Cup central. You can catch all 64 games at the KC Live! Block as well as on screens in surrounding bars, including McFadden’s, Johnny’s Tavern and Tengo Sed Cantina.

Here’s how crazy it got during the USA vs. Ghana match after the go-ahead goal.

Futbol Club Eatery & Tap is an obvious choice for World Cup fun, where you’re sure to find yourself in the company of plenty of die-hard soccer fans and maybe even a few players. The soccer bar even made the Travel Channel’s list of the 10 best U.S. bars to watch the World Cup, which commended its collection of memorabilia and charitable spirit—1 percent of Futbol Club’s sales are donated to local youth soccer clubs.

Yard House at Legends Outlets Kansas City is also airing all of the World Cup matches live from Brazil. Even the most uninterested member of your group won’t be able to resist getting excited, even if it’s just over one of the restaurant’s special Brazil-inspired cocktails, like the Citrus Agave Caipirinha featuring housemade citrus agave and cachaça.

If you like your soccer served with ice cold beer (And who doesn’t?), head to Kansas City Bier Company, which has expanded its hours to 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day to allow for maximum World Cup watching. Afternoon games will be even better if you’re eating one of KC Bier Co.’s daily lunch specials and enjoying beer for $1 off.

Haus is also pairing plays with brews with a bevy of drink specials, including liter boots, buckets of beer bottles and tecate cans. Grab a brat and a seat, and don’t forget about the giveaways before and during games, where you can win soccer balls, beer glasses, scarves, tees and more.

Wash down the taste of victory (or defeat) with a Mexican draft beer at Port Fonda, which is offering specials through June 26. But don’t worry, you can catch games all World Cup long at the restaurant while you grab a bite to eat. Gameday snacks have never been so tasty.

Pinstripes, Prairiefire’s new bowling and bocce spot, is showing its support for the U.S. and Italy by offering everyone in the building a free scoop of gelato anytime either team scores a goal. It’s also offering discounted flatbreads—thick-cut grilled chicken with avocado and bacon when USA is on the field and a tasty combination of fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, dried figs and a balsamic reduction in honor of Team Italia.
