Feel like showing off your KC spirit? There’s a new Normal Human location for that.
One of the coolest lines of KC-centric design now has a new bricks-and-mortar home in the Westport district. Normal Human relocated to its spot on Westport Road from its previous spot in Mission, which the company had outgrown.
“Westport had sort of always been the place we thought our shop would work best, so when we found an available space, the decision pretty much made itself,” says co-owner Dan Mahaney.
The new shop offers not only its own branded apparel and prints, but also merchandise from locals the owners met doing pop-up shops. Some of the designers and artisans featured include Basement Soap, Kira Terrey Jewelry and Sandlot Goods.
So which of the cool shirts should you pick up to show your KC pride?
“We put a lot of thought, time, and effort into each of our designs, so it’s kind of like a parent picking a favorite child,” Mahaney says. “By public opinion, though, it seems our Wheat Arrows ($26-30) and Scout ($26) designs are the most popular.”
We’re also gaga for their designs for tiny humans, such as this adorable “I’d rather be eating BBQ” bib ($10, from Normal Human or nrmlhmn.com).
