Westport Dominates Eater’s List of KC Culinary Hotspots

Eater is the latest media source showing KC love.

In a recent installment of its  “Where to Eat Right Now” series, the food website focused on nine relatively new or recently revamped restaurants and drinking spots in the city, and the list just so happens to include some of our favorites.

Ça Va is a winner, says Eater. Photo by David Allison.

Westport earned five of the nine spots on the list with Howard Hanna’s Ça Va, whiskey bar Julep, pickle-loving Preservation Market, barbecue joint Q39 and the all-American Westport Ale House all scoring mentions.

The American Restaurant was included for mixing up its menu and featuring top culinary talent like executive chef Michael Corvino and sous chef Andy McCormick, while Bluestem, which just reopened last week, earned points for its new look.

Longtime local favorite Happy Gillis also got a shout out, and the quaint Waldo caffeine destination Second Best Coffee was the list’s sole coffee shop.
