KC is going to the dogs in the best possible way.
Local animal shelters are among the city’s most popular charities, but lending a helping hand is easier and more fun than ever this month thanks to these fundraisers.
Make a dinner date with your furry friend for Story.’s Dining for Dogs dinner on Wednesday. Reserve a table for any time between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to enjoy the $65, three-course meal, which features dishes like linguine with lobster, chicken with black truffle sauce and German chocolate cake and raises money for Wayside Waifs.
If you prefer to wear you support rather than eat it, the KC Pet Project has partnered with locally based clothing company Collar for Collar for the month of June, when 50 percent of the profits from every purchase on the company’s website benefits the shelter. Items for sale include cute collars for dogs and colorful basic tees for men, women and kids, as well as this Kansas City Bred t-shirt ($34) that’s perfect for a weekend walk in the park.
