June 17th – July 6th, Southmoreland Park
Ditch your high school English-era fear of Shakespeare—The Bard’s words sound best when you hear them performed.
The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, now in its 22nd season, is more than happy to oblige with its production of “The Winter’s Tale,” which runs June 17 through July 6 in Southmoreland Park. The play tells the story of a jealous king who brings ruin to his own family only to discover a happy ending in his midst, but your own experience of the show can be drama-free. Just pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chair and come early to snag the best open, free seating.
