After an extended renovation, one of midtown’s culinary crown jewels is back in action.
Chefs Colby and Megan Garrelts are known for their creative reinventions of some American classics, however their latest endeavor isn’t a fresh take on a menu item but on their Westport restaurant, bluestem, now a Kansas City classic in its own right.
The restaurant is reopening tonight after a two-month renovation overseen by architect David Herron, of Herron + Partners, that expanded the seating area in both the lounge and dining room, and incorporates an open kitchen, allowing diners a glimpse of the chefs at work. Of course the cuisine is still the main attraction, so the revamp also extends to the food. In addition to bluestem’s spring menu, you’ll also find new offerings on the brunch and bar menus.
We at This Is KC are proud to say, “Welcome back!”
