Lifeform Studio Brings a Special Creative Service to KC

A new Leawood business is giving Kansas Citians the opportunity to bring their photography and printing into the year 2014.

Owned and operated by Mason and Lisa Menninger, Lifeform Studio will provide 3-D photography and printing services using more than 100 professional, synchronized cameras and a state-of-the-art, 3-D printer. As the only one in the KC metro and one of the first of its kind worldwide it is slated to open in Park Place in late June.

Here, Lifeform Studio will produce “lifeforms,” which are full-color, high-resolution, 3-D figures that are custom scaled and detailed enough to produce characteristics such as facial stubble, piercings, pant creases, shoestrings and tattoos.

The synchronized cameras capture a 360-degree photograph, which is then printed with the 3-D printer to produce the lifeforms, made from a material similar to sandstone.

Lifeform Studio will also offer 3-D printing services to the Kansas City architectural community.
