Calling all civic doers, creatives, entrepreneurs and whiz-bang tech developer – CityCampKC14 is coming for you.
Back for its third year, CityCampKC 2014 – brought to you by the Kauffman Foundation, Google Fiber, Burns & McDonnell, Mindmixer, LaunchKC and many others – will be held May 31 at the Kauffman Foundation from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including a social breakfast at 8 a.m. and post-camp cocktails from 5 to 7 p.m.
With the theme of “Startups and The City,” CityCampKC 2014 will include panels, discussions and rapid-fire Ignite talks, and will showcase new technology and electronic gizmos.
The “un-conference,” or a conference without a speaker list or set schedule, offers attendees the opportunity to network, learn and share their passion about work, hobbies and civic interests in Kansas City in an open format.
In an effort to focus on increasing digital literacy and closing the digital divide, CityCampKC14 is also partnering with Connecting for Good for Kansas City’s participation in the annual National Day of Civic Hacking.
Tickets, which include free breakfast, refreshments, lunch, drinks, closing party and a CityCampKC 2014 T-shirt, are $30 for general admission or $15 for students with a valid student ID. They’re on sale through midnight prior to the event. Buy them now at http://citycampkc.org.
