Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Today offers plenty of ways to start the week off right.

At Mestizo, you can quench your thirst with $3 margaritas and Mexican draft beer. The Leawood restaurant will also be serving up live music and street style chicken and pork carnitas tacos, elote (Mexican corn on the cob) and veggie mini-tamales for $2 each on the patio.

What better way to celebrate than with a truly massive selection of tequila to choose from? In addition to their always amazing drink options, Zocalo is throwing a fiesta with drink specials and live music.

Tengo Sed Cantina recently got a new look and new menu thanks to a collaboration with Port Fonda’s Patrick Ryan. Enjoy the fresh offerings, including classic beach street food, as well as 2-for-1 tacos and drink specials at the all-day Cinco party. Braised pork belly tacos with chipotle barbecue sauce and grilled corn salsa, anyone?

Gather your friends for $15 buckets of Corona, Modelo Especial, Tecate Sol and Dos Equis XX at Taco Republic. Or wash down chips and salsa with a $4 Casa Margarita (or, if you’re feeling adventurous, a Cazadores Tequila shot).

Bier Station might not be the most obvious place to party this Cinco de Mayo, but you’ll want to make sure to stop by. The beer bar is celebrating with Indios Carbonsitos, Deschutes Brewery and its beer barrel on wheels, where you can sample Not the Stoic Belgian Quad, which is being tapped for the first time in KC, and Black Butter Porter infused with tequila-soaked oak chips, among many other offerings.
