May 8 and 9, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
Shirley and Barnett Helzberg welcome you into their home while Ted Habiger from Room 39 prepares dinner in the kitchen; meanwhile wines from Blackbird Cellars and Au Bon Climat fill glasses. Similar greetings, aromas and pours are taking place at five more spectacular homes during the Winemaker’s Dinners portion of ShuttleCork on May 8.
Only 30 very lucky patrons at each home will experience menus created by Michael Corvino, Carl Thorne-Thomsen, Howard Hanna, Michael Smith and Jennifer Maloney, with wines selected by Doug Frost. But the rest of us are in for a special evening as well the following night when Grand Tastings takes over the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, which benefits from the event.
Each guest will imbibe special wines from 30 top-rated wineries served in commemorative Riedel stemware along with tastes from 30 of our city’s best restaurants. The silent and live auction packages are just as remarkable, including private tours of wineries, culinary experiences ranging from tastings at Amigoni Wine for 10 to a food truck party for 100.
It’s the don’t-miss party of the year, and tickets to both nights are limited. For details, including ticket information and a preview of the sensational auction lots, click on the photo below.
