The nerdy help the needy as The Nerdery brings its Overnight Website Challenge to Kansas City for the first time.
Teams of Web developers, designers and engineers will work 24 hours straight to further four local nonprofits’ missions through better use of interactive technology.
The nonprofits benefiting from the 24-hour hackathon include Kansas City Actors Theatre, KVC Health Systems, Rosedale Development Association and Vasculitis Foundation.
The countdown clock starts on Saturday, April 12, at 9 a.m. at Think Big Partners and will run simultaneously with similar community-service competitions (a.k.a. “nerdathons”) in Chicago and Minneapolis.
After plenty of rest for both nerds and nonprofits, the teams will gather again at Union Station on Wednesday, April 30, for the Web Challenge Awards to be recognized for their work.
