Donate Books to Mayor Sly James’ Turn the Page

Don’t throw away your used books during spring cleaning— donate them.

Where would we be in life without the classic influences of “Green Eggs and Ham,” “Harriet the Spy” or “Goodnight Moon”? Pass these books to a new generation at this month’s book drive for Mayor Sly James’ Turn the Page KC in the Power & Light District, a campaign to drive the community toward achieving reading proficiency for third graders. People can donate books for Turn the Page’s four partnering school districts until April 25 at drop-off locations, which include Cosentino’s Market Downtown, The Garment District Boutique, KC Live! Block and Lattéland.

The campaign’s goal is set for 5,000 preschool to third grade level books to fill end-of-school backpacks, and Power & Light will donate an additional book for every donation made. Get more information about Turn The Page KC here.
