Not only has the school received recognition as a top player in the area, it recently received national attention.
This year, U.S. News and World Report recognized the Rockhurst Helzberg School of Management in its 2015 Best Graduate Schools List, ranking the Helzberg Management MBA No. 20 in the nation. It is the only Kansas City program ever to rank in the top 20.
The Helzberg School of Management tied with Washington University in St. Louis and Ohio State University at No. 20. The rankings place the Helzberg School among top institutions, including Harvard University (No. 1), Stanford University (No. 2) and the University of Pennsylvania (No. 3).
This is the second year in a row the Helzberg School was recognized nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The school ranked 21st last year. The rankings are based off of universities’ faculty, research programs and students. U.S. News and World Report utilizes national experts to determine the quality of each school. Quantitative statistical data is also considered when compiling the rankings.
“We’re proud that our Management MBA continues to be nationally recognized for its quality,” says Cheryl McConnell, dean of the Helzberg School of Management. “We’ve achieved this through focusing on the students, their learning experience and the needs of the business community.”
Small class sizes and a flexible schedule mixed with accelerated eight-week classes set the Helzberg School apart from other business schools. It offers both master’s and bachelor’s degrees and is the only private school in KC accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Less than 5 percent of business schools throughout the world earn this accreditation and receiving it requires a school to meet 21 standards in a process that can take up to seven years.
In addition to the applied business interactions and leadership development one would expect at a business school, Helzberg graduates leave with a sense of respect for people and concepts, strong integrity and ethics in all aspects of business and a commitment to improving the world.
