Puttin’ on the spritz…
You don’t wear the same clothes year-round, so why wear the same perfume? Update your fragrance wardrobe with one of these new offerings.
Boutique fragrance company Bond No. 9’s scents are each inspired by and bear the name of an area of New York. Its spring release, Hudson Yards ($285/100ml, from Halls), celebrates renewal with floral notes including Lily of the Valley, freesia and peony buds balanced by pink pepper oil and white musk.
No prizes for guessing the inspiration behind Jo Malone’s new limited-edition collection, London Rain. The line includes four scents that were each created denote a different kind of wet weather. (Maybe it’s like the Eskimos’ many words for snow?) Our favorite, Rain & Angelica ($120/100ml, from Halls), represents early morning dew in London parks with accords of rain, lime, angelica and vetiver.
Balenciaga’s latest, Rosabotanica ($130/100ml, from Nordstrom), offers a modern take on floral fragrances, with the notes of rose, hyacinth and creamy fig leaf enlivened by grapefruit, pink pepper and cardamom and rounded off by spicy accents of amber and cedar.
