April 4 – Sept. 7, at Union Station
Kansas City will be the first U.S. stop for an exhibit focusing on King Tutankhamen that has been touring Europe for several years. “The Discovery of King Tut” will be open to visitors from April 4 to Sept. 7 at Union Station. The exhibit does not feature actual ancient Egyptian artifacts, but includes more than 1,000 expertly crafted reproductions of the artifacts found in the boy pharaoh’s tomb to offer “a thrillingly unique experience that explores the legendary tomb and its treasures as they were at the exact moment of their discovery,” according to the exhibit’s production company.
Tickets (from $12.50-$22) go on sale on Feb. 18 on Union Station’s website.
