Intouch Solutions and Northwestern Mutual both plan to hire hundreds of new employees this year. Sedgwick LLC, a California company, will be moving its Shared Services Center to Kansas City, creating 100 job opportunities. And Aviation Technical Services (ATS) plans to open a new facility at the KCI Airport creating more than 500 new jobs over the next three to five years with the potential for 1,000 employees over time.

Intouch Solutions, an Overland Park-based marketing firm that specializes in the pharmaceutical industry, plans to relocate its headquarters from Corporate Woods to a 90,000-square-foot building in June. The company will hire an additional 350 employees over the next five years. Intouch currently employs 340 people locally and 450 individuals nationwide in its Chicago and New York offices. Needed positions at the firm include account service managers, customer relationship managers, email marketers, software developers and analysts.

Northwestern Mutual, a national life insurance provider, is looking to recruit more than 150 financial representatives and interns for its KC and surrounding area offices throughout 2014. It plans to hire 55 financial representatives and more than 100 interns as part of its nationwide goal to recruit 6,400 financial professionals in 2014. The company says its reason for expanding is to keep up with the growing demand for financial security guidance, citing a recent study that revealed roughly 50 percent of Americans don’t have a financial plan in place.

International law firm Sedgwick will be relocating its administrative operations from San Francisco to KC based on the city’s centralized location, operating costs and availability and quality of talent. The firm’s move will create 100 IT, human resources, marketing and financial services jobs. Sedgwick plans to have its Shared Services Center in the central downtown area and will reveal the final location destination later this month.

ATS plans to open a new 607,000-square-foot facility at the KCI Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Base at the KC International Airport, creating hundreds of jobs and investing more than $7 million in the city over the next few years, according to the KCADC. The Everett, Wash.-based company has two locations in its home state, but says expanding its operations into KC will put the aviation maintenance provider in closer proximity to some of its largest customers. ATS currently employs more than 1,000 people who work together to support a global customer base.
