Wake Up Your Makeup for Spring

Colorful ways to freshen up your look for the new season

With a new season on the horizon, it’s time to spring-clean your makeup bag. Toss out the heavy coverage foundation and strong colors and freshen up with lighter, brighter looks.

Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer ($60, from Halls Plaza) is a translucent illuminating liquid you can blend with your usual foundation now to reduce sallowness, and then wear alone later in the season for a fresh-faced glow.

Pops of color perked up otherwise nude faces on the spring runway at Rag + Bone and Dior Couture. Ilia’s lipstick crayon in the punchy coral shade “Karma Chamleon” ($24, from Standard Style at Town Center Crossing) also soothes your pout with oils of sesame, rosehip and papaya.

A pinky-lavender was tipped to be the color of the year by Pantone. The hue gets added oomph via Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in “Metallic Lavender” ($32, from Beauty Brands locations around town).

Blue as the sky on a sunny day, Hoopla’s “Princess Moonbeam” mini-polish ($8, from Hoopla in Fairway) will put a spring in your step.

Halls, Standard Style, Beauty Brands and Hoopla makeup packs are available now.
