Chef of Leawood’s 801 Fish Competes on Food Network Show

The restaurant’s executive chef Alex Schifman appears on “Cutthroat Kitchen” this Sunday, January 26. How far will he go to win?

UPDATE: How did Chef Alex do? Watch the Post-Show discussion here!

We love cheering on the home team – whether it’s in sports or, well, a TV cooking competition. This weekend, Alex Schifman, the executive chef of local fave 801 Fish, will show what a great “catch” he is when he appears on Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen,” hosted by Alton Brown.

If you’re not familiar with the show, the premise is much like other cooking competitions – except this one not only tests the contestants’ cooking skills, but just how far they’ll go to win. Sabotage, ingredient thievery and utensil destruction are all on the menu as four chefs try to produce delicious dishes while simultaneously plotting the competition’s demise.
