As Kansas City’s culinary renaissance continues to build, these four schools ensure a healthy dose of creative professionals are ready to fill much-needed roles.
The Kansas City area has been quietly cultivating top-notch chefs at local culinary schools for some time. Often these gem chefs are snapped up by local restaurants, but just as frequently they are recruited to larger cities, where they get their feet wet in kitchens with master chefs.

Where will the next Kansas City culinary talent come from?
There are four standout schools locally. These include the Hospitality & Culinary Academy at Johnson County Community College; Broadmoor Bistro in Overland Park; the Kansas City Kansas Community College Technical Education Center, and L’Ecole Culinaire on the Plaza.
The good news is that all of these programs offer local residents a chance to taste food from these chefs through on-site restaurants or special events.
