What are you wearing to party arty?

Fashion gurus from Feng, Standard Style and Paolini share their picks.

After “Did you buy your tickets for Party Arty yet?” it’s the second most important question you and your friends will be asking: “What are you going to wear?”

This year the signature event of the Nelson-Atkins Museum’s Young Friends of Art, which takes place Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Bloch Lobby of the museum, is dubbed Party Arty: Mirage. Taking its queue from current and upcoming exhibitions, Mirage’s theme is designed to whisk partygoers off to the exotic Middle East, complete with a hookah lounge, food and cocktail bazaar and VIP cabanas.

Unlike Scheherazade, you’ve only got this one Arabian night – so make the most of it by dressing the part. Check out the video below for advice on what to wear from Feng owner, Beth Zollars; Standard Style’s retail director, Joni Johnson; and menswear master Tom Paolini of Paolini Garment Company.
