As the old saying goes, “Genius: 1 Percent Inspiration, 99 Percent Perspiration.” The Eclectic Electric designs of Vintage Edison.
Light designer Jim Ligon is one hardworking man. He grew up in a family of electrical contractors, and went on to become a bartender at JJ’s, until the fire. Here comes the genius part: Ligon has combined both elements of his life history into his current venture, Vintage Edison.
Each piece is made from handcrafted wooden boxes and re-purposed booze vessels, such as the blown glass tequila bottles seen directly below ($175). You can find his work in local shops such as TallulahBelle’s in Park Place, not to mention installations in Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Now, that’s one active genius!
