There’s a new restaurant in town, and it’s getting plenty of buzz.
“Rosso is just what Kansas City needed,” sighs Eddie Michael Sandridge, a well-traveled friend. “A place to hang out with friends over cocktails or enjoy dinner in a sophisticated, upscale place. It looks like it could be in New York, Chicago or San Francisco.”
Or perhaps a cosmopolitan city in Italy? After all, Rosso means “red” in Italian. Executive Chef Brian Archibald explains: “The name hints to the restaurant’s concept, a sleek and sexy design, filled with passion.
Seems like Sandridge isn’t the only one sighing. “We’re creating a playful twist on Italian cuisine using a modern approach while celebrating local farmers and food artisans,” Chef Archibald continues. Not only is the food menu a chef-driven concept, but the craft cocktail list is bartender-driven, using the same approach. House-made infusions and bitters, and hand-pressed juices dot the cocktail list.
Rosso, located in the Country Club Plaza’s new Hotel Sorella, has already made a glowing first impression on the community; one of its soft-opening nights helped raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City.
