Chuy’s isn’t the only new Mexican restaurant you’ll want to put on your list. Diego’s Bar & Grill has flair all its own.
Ivan Marquez has built a strong following with two Overland Park restaurants, one full-service, the other fast-casual. Now comes his newest concept, Diego’s Bar & Grill located in the Northland, a full service casual venue with an expanded menu including a 64 seat bar area.
From soups, salads, hot juicy hamburgers, robust pasta dishes, sizzling chops, and of course contemporary Mexican which his reputation has been built upon, Diego’s Bar & Grill has a menu with something for everyone. Marquez and Marco Diaz, Managing Partner opened Diego’s Bar & Grill on December 6th in the former Tanner’s Bar & Grill space located on Antioch Road. Dark rich woods accented with bamboo dividers and teal material booths designed by local designer Laura Bowman all add to the casual and relaxed atmosphere.
Diego’s is named after artist Frida Kahlo’s husband and fellow artist, Diego Rivera. Marquez also is a partner in Frida’s Taqueria, a fast-casual restaurant in Overland Park.
