Local real estate development group donates an office building to the Truman Medical Centers.
ZDG Investments, LP, a local real estate development group, has kicked off the season of giving with the donation of an eight-story office building to Truman Medical Centers (TMC).
The group, comprised of local commercial real estate firm Zimmer Companies, Inc. and contractor J.E. Dunn Construction, contributed the $3.3 million property at 7300 NW Tiffany Springs Parkway in Kansas City, Mo., to the TMC Charitable Foundation. The Corporate Circle property had been occupied since 1993 by WorldSpan, a travel technology company. The 117,077-square-foot building will house administrative operations for Truman Medical Center such as IT, billing and financial services and a call center.
“We as an organization are bursting at the seams in terms of space needed versus space available, and this will allow us to relocate some of our behind-the-scenes, yet vital, support service areas,” TMC President and CEO John W. Bluford says. “Zimmer and Dunn have been longtime supporters, partners and friends of TMC, and we cannot thank them enough for this generous gift.”
The expansion will allow TMC to use current campuses for the services they specialize in, such as chronic disease management, family medicine, orthopedics, trauma services and women’s health. TMC is also a teaching hospital for University of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry.
“Truman Medical Center plays a vital role in the Kansas City community,” Zimmer Companies Chairman Hugh J. Zimmer says. “It is our hope that this gesture will go a long way in helping…continue its mission for many, many years.”
