Two New Trends in Fall Bedding

Make your bed and lie in it with comfort and style. Annabelles Fine Linens and Scandia Home & Terrasi European Collections offer a peek at the latest in bedding trends.

Bold graphics and bright colors are two new trends for bedding this season. Grey, orange and teal blue are all vibrant colors that have been added to the palette. Navy blue is fast becoming a new base color. Monograms are also back, whether it is one-piece or the classic hotel look with multiple monogrammed pieces.

Many customers still prefer neutral bedding that is restful to the eye and adds to a relaxing environment. The new greys play into this setting beautifully. Personal preference is always the best trend. That holds true for sheeting, some like cool and crisp, others like soft, silky sheets.

Most Annabelles bedding lines have expanded their options to accommodate the consumer. Yves Delorme added Kacho-ga, a new beautiful orange Asian-inspired pattern. Peacock Alley also uses orange in a more traditional pattern.

John Robshaw has lots of wonderful graphic patterns in navy blue and other colors. Bella Notte is still the best for textured fabrics.

Sferra is our most preferred sheeting line with beautifully made linens from the finest Italian mills.

Sarah Winslow, Scandia Home & Terrasi European Collections

Bedding trends at Scandia Home include florals, tone on tone color combinations and sophisticated use of metallics.

The St Germain collection evokes images of Paris’ Latin Quarter and its famed flower markets. “The elegant and simple floral motif is woven onto a vibrant coral background,” says Winslow. “The trend of partnering saturated colors with neutrals, as shown here, creates a more sophisticated and meaningful palette.

The Allegro / Adagio collection is a tone on tone jacquard in a foggy grey with a misty silver luster. Winslow says, “It is more modern and less fussy, a trend we have been seeing for a while now. I love it with some Lucite accent pieces against a deep plum wall for contrast.”

Metallics are neutrals presented with a twist. “These Shimmer pillows come in Flax (shimmery taupe), Silver and Gold,” says Winslow. “Every room needs a little shimmer to reflect light and add savoir vivre, and these pillows do it with style.”
