Metal Is Her Muse

Another Reason to Get Bejeweled

Local designer Carly Kimbrough has been interested in jewelry and the art of making it since she was a child. Kimbrough uses traditional metalsmithing techniques to create handmade pieces meant to last a lifetime. Art Nouveau and Art Deco are major points of inspiration for Kimbrough, who gives a modern twist to romantic pieces. Her work is found on the West Coast and in Kansas City, and she hopes it is passed down through the generations for years to come.

The Propel Necklace ($585) is one such forever piece. Sterling silver and rutile is fanned down in a pattern reminiscent of the latest trends while stilling remaining a design for the ages.
