Amy Thielen, a born and raised Minnesotan, is set to bring the Midwest to Food Network with her new series, “Heartland Table” premiering on Sept. 14th.
“Heartland Table” is meant to introduce viewers to Midwestern dishes interpreted by Thielen. Thielen has worked in some of New York City’s most popular restaurants, but she has since moved back to Minnesota with her husband to raise a family. Thielen plans on focusing on the farming and rustic cooking of the area. As such, Thielen will prepare straight-from-the-garden greens, locally sourced eggs and meat and produce purchased down the street. Also a cookbook author and blogger, Thielen knows how to teach her audience how to cook the hearty, family meals of the Midwest so they come out right each time.
In addition to cooking for viewers in her log cabin, Thielen will scour the Midwest searching for local businesses and purveyors who specialize in producing traditional eats and drinks, such as fresh butter and microbrews. Through Thielen, viewers will learn the secrets of these experts’ trades.
“Heartland Table” will premiere on Food Network on Saturday, September 14 at 9:30 a.m. Find more information on this and more shows on Food Network at foodnetwork.com.
