Stone Brewing Company Debuts in Kansas

Stone Brewing Company announced in June that, beginning July 22, the San Diego, Ca. brewing company varieties will now be available at bars, restaurants and retailers in Kansas.

The bold, flavorful, hop-centric beer will be available through three local distributors—Central States Beverage Company, Crown Distributors, LLC and LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. July 22th through 25th will be packed full of special release beers, beer school, meet and greets and a beer dinner in celebration of Stone Brewing Co.’s arrival in the area.

Stone Brewing Co. began brewing in North County San Diego in 1996. Founded by Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, Stone is the 10th largest craft brewer in the United States. Stone also owns two farm-to-table restaurants in California, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido and Liberty Station and Stone Farms, an organic farm located near the brewery which grows produce for the restaurants.

“Kansas has long been a state that has expressed interest in having our beers available in their local watering holes,” Stone Director of National Sales Jason Armstrong says. “We distribute to two neighboring states, Colorado and Missouri, and have seen plenty of Kansans crossing the border to attend events and buy our beer.”

Kansas joins 37 states; Washington, D.C.; five countries and one territory will Stone beers are distributed. An extensive list of Stone beers will soon be available, including Stone Pale Ale, Smoked Porter, IPA, Levitation Ale, RuinTen IPA, the award-winning Arrogant Bastard Ale, OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale, Cali-Belgique IPA and Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.

Stone Brewing Co.’s upcoming local events include beer school with Leader Brewer Jeremy Moynier on July 22nd (Barley’s Brewhaus & Restaurant, 11924 W. 119th St., Overland Park) and beer sampling (multiple Kansas locations). Also, beers on tap and a burger inspired by Stone products (The Burger Stand, 803 Massachusetts St., Lawrence and Dempsey’s Burger Pub, 623 Vermont St., Lawrence) and T-shirt and pint glass night (Barley’s Brewhaus and Rye, 10551 Mission Road, Leawood).
