Roasterie Unveils Winner of “Costa Rica Adventure” Contest

Up, up and away! It took weeks to decide on a winner from lots of creative submissions, but Danny O’Neill has picked his next travel partner. Who is it?

In a blog post put up this afternoon, July 17th, the shot-callers at KC coffee company The Roasterie revealed who won their popular creative contest for a trip to Costa Rica with Danny O’Neill in search of the perfect coffee crop.

The Roasterie selected Louise Anderson from Fairfax, Minnesota to win not just a coffee bean picking trip in Costa Rica, but the opportunity to shadow the Bean Baron for the day, and have a one-on-one cupping session. Contestants loved her humorous variation on “American Gothic.”

During a semi-final round where contestants were asked to give reasons why they select Roasterie coffees as their brand and how it incorporates into their lifestyle, Anderson kept it simple.

“We are farmers, so going to Costa Rica would be an incredible agricultural trip to see a different commodity being produced,” said Louise.

The popular contest asked that coffee connoisseurs submit a photo that shows them and The Roasterie brand for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Costa Rica. It just had to show The Roasterie name, logo, product packaging, café, factory, or some other representation of the brand. The photos were then voted on by readers in order to make it to the final round. The finalists also receive tickets to the 20th Anniversary Party of the coffee company in the fall.
