Benedict is a huge sports fan,Jayhawks being number one in her heart with the Chiefs and Royals coming up second. She also plays sand volleyball and kickball.

As for the power of mentorship, Benedict felt first-hand what a positive role model can do for a young child.

“My voice teacher is an amazing mentor,” Benedict says. “He was almost like therapy. He would just listen, not interrupt or judge. As a middle school and high school student, that was so helpful. I know he has made a huge difference in my life and in countless others.”
