From March through October of 2012, Scott Tucker and his racing team, Level 5 Motorsports, once again returned to race tracks across the nation – as well as a select few in Canada and France – as part of their 2012 racing schedule.
Scott Tucker, a Kansas City native, businessman, and father of two, is competing in the 2012 American Le Mans Series Season, the 2012 World Endurance Championship, the 2012 Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship Powered by Mazda, and the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. Scott Tucker will be competing as both owner and driver for Level 5 Motorsports.
With a racing career that began in 2006, Scott Tucker has quickly become a force to be reckoned with on the track. In 2006, Scott Tucker completed a full season in the Ferrari Challenge Series – a single-marque motorsport championship organized by Ferrari Corse Clienti – taking third place at the World Finals in one of the two North American races. In 2007, Scott Tucker returned to the Ferrari Challenge and earned himself a win at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. But it wasn’t until the 2008 and 2009 racing seasons that Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports began to break records and earn both the driver and the team a reputation as a dedicated competitor on the track. During the 2008 Ferrari Challenge Series, Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports won six of the thirteen races and finished second overall in the standings. In 2009, Scott Tucker won ten races – at that time, it was the greatest number of individual wins in the Ferrari Challenge history.
Over the years, Scott Tucker has also competed in the Rolex Sports Car Series, the American Le Mans Series, and Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports have raced their way to more than 100 podium finishes, 70 victories, and five national championships.
The 2012 Racing Season for Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports began March 17th, with the 12 Hours of Sebring in Sebring, Florida. That weekend, Scott Tucker took a victory in the first Cooper Tires Lites Race in L2 Class, as well as another win in the Cooper Tires Lites Prototype L2 class. In April, Scott Tucker scored two wins in a row at the American Le Mans Series in Long Beach, California. In May, Scott Tucker took a class win in the Cooper Tires Lites series at Laguna Seca. In August, Scott Tucker took the LMP2 class win – his fourteenth career American Le Mans Series class win at Mid-Ohio in Lexington.
